Salt Books are struggling to survive in the recession. They're asking everyone to buy one book, in a last-ditch attempt to save the press.

I bought the book of essays by Tony Lopez, 'Meaning Performance'.

Mine, slightly overdue perhaps, was the collected Chaloner - a poet I like more and more.

I bought the Chaloner some time ago - took me a while to get into it; it's poetry that works on you over time. I'm a fan now.

I hope Salt survives too - they've helped revitalise poetry.
